We live in a time when everything screams. Cell phones vibrate, notifications don't stop, the world is running - and the soul is silent. In the midst of so many voices, stimuli, opinions and pressures, it's natural to wonder: "How do I hear God's voice?"

The answer doesn't lie in ready-made formulas, but in something you may have been missing for a long time: inner silence.
Because God's voice doesn't compete with noise. It doesn't shout. It whispers to the heart.
And to listen to it, you have to learn to be silent inside, even when the world is noisy outside.

Does God still speak?

Yes, and he talks every day.
But he doesn't impose himself. God speaks in silence, in details, in feelings.
He speaks through nature, the Word, people, circumstances and even the subtlest thoughts.
But to listen, you have to be available.

"Speak, Lord, and your servant will listen." - 1 Samuel 3:10

The problem is not that God is silent. The problem is that too often we don't stop to listen.

What gets in the way of our spiritual listening?

  • The rush
  • Anxiety
  • Too many distractions
  • The lack of true prayer
  • The fear of hearing something that goes against our will

We want to listen to God, but we don't give time or space. We want instant answers, visible signs, clear confirmations.
But God works in his own time - and he reveals himself little by little, like a breath, like a gentle breeze.

Where is God's voice hiding?

She's not in the news of the day, nor in the Instagram feed.
She is in simple places, where few look:

  • In the silence of the morning before the cell phone rings
  • In a Bible reading done with an open heart
  • In sincere prayer, even if it's just one sentence
  • In a song that touches you in a different way
  • On the advice of someone who really loves you
  • In an answer that comes when you've already given up

God speaks all the time. But not always in the way we expect.
Sometimes what he says challenges us. At other times, it calms us down.
But it always, always directs.

How can we create an inner environment to listen to God?

1. Cultivate silence

Even in a noisy world, it is possible to create moments of silence.
Five minutes a day. A corner of your own. A deep breath.
God dwells in that inner space where the external noise cannot reach.

2. Reading the Word

The Bible is alive.
Often, a passage read without haste speaks exactly to what you're experiencing.
Don't read out of obligation. Read like you're looking for a conversation.

3. Prayer with truth

You don't need pretty words. You need sincerity.
Pray saying: "Lord, speak to me your way. Help me to understand your voice."

4. Write down what you feel

Often, when writing a prayer or venting, the answers appear between the lines.
God also speaks through you.

5. Pay attention to the signs

God's voice can come in a repeated verse, in a phrase heard "by chance", in something that is too repeated to be a coincidence.
Open the eyes of your soul.

What if I don't hear anything?

Sometimes God's silence is the answer.
He's saying: "Trust me, even without explanations."

Don't listen to anything now does not mean abandonment.
It means that he is acting differently.
And it may be preparing you to hear something bigger, deeper, more transformative.

The absence of sound is not the absence of presence.

When God's voice is different from your will

What God says is not always what you want to hear.
But it's always what you needs to hear.

God's voice corrects with love.
Guide with wisdom.
Comfort with peace.
Challenge with purpose.

If what you heard:

  • It brings you closer to God
  • Brings peace even in discomfort
  • Confirm what is in the Word
  • Calls you to truth and good

Probably, He's talking to you.

The difference between external voices and the voice of God

In the midst of so much advice, videos, texts and opinions, how do we know what comes from God?

  • The voice of the world confuses. God's voice calms.
  • The voice of fear paralyzes. The voice of God encourages.
  • The voice of the ego inflames. The voice of God teaches with humility.
  • God's voice never contradicts love or truth.

It may annoy, but it never condemns.
It may confront, but it always heals.

God is still speaking. But are you listening?

If you've come this far, maybe God is already calling you.
A gentle touch, a memory, a desire to reconnect.
Don't ignore it.

Stop. Breathe. Silence.
And say it with an open heart:

"Lord, I am here. Speak to me in your own time, in your own way. I want to learn to really listen to you."
