The Bible is a compilation of sacred texts with real lessons on how to have a healthy Christian relationship. However, the Bible is a large book that is somewhat inaccessible to read in its entirety in today's fast-paced world.

That's why this article will show you a compilation of passages and lessons so that you know what the Bible says about relationships. In this way, it will be possible to have a healthy Christian relationship, while still practicing Christian precepts.

Above all, love comes first. In Jesus' teachings, there is the instruction to love your neighbor as God loves you. In other words, to love in a pure, complete and committed way.

That's why a relationship like dating, for example, should be the way to build love with your partner. Furthermore, a Christian courtship should be chaste and with the aim of marriage.

The Bible doesn't teach much about Christian practices in dating, because this type of relationship wasn't part of the culture of the time and region in which the Bible was written.

However, there are many teachings on marriage. And a Christian courtship should be entered into with this goal in mind: marriage as soon as possible.

Relationships according to the Bible

The Bible is full of passages that can serve as lessons for a healthy Christian relationship. In this sense, we've selected the best passages for you to maintain a balanced and loving relationship.

1.     Resolve conflicts

According to the Bible, Ephesians 4:26 teaches that you should contain your anger with loved ones, resolve marital problems as soon as possible in order to start the next day calmly and healthily.

2.     Donate as much as you can

According to Acts 20:35, you have to give yourself to your partner. This will only build a joyful relationship that will fill your heart with good feelings. That's why you're advised to sow good and gratitude for what your partner brings into your life too.

3.     Don't be prejudiced

In Samuel 16:7, we are taught to see our partner as God does: to see beyond appearance. So, when you start a relationship, be sure to understand the other person's faults, without putting pressure on them to change. The ideal is to admire all that your partner has to offer, such as their qualities.

4.     Be faithful

In Luke 16:10, the true value of faithfulness is taught. Trust is not earned overnight. However, you have to demonstrate true acts of fidelity to your partner in order to gain their trust and never break it.

5.     Be patient in difficult times

Every relationship goes through difficult times, whether it's dating or marriage. However, Romans 12:12 teaches us to have hope instead of other destructive feelings, such as frustration, hurt, blaming the other person and other feelings that are harmful to Christian relationships.

What do you need to do before entering into a relationship according to the Bible?

Before starting your Christian relationship, there are some practices you can take to be blessed by God in your journey as a partner.

The first step is to love God above all things, not just giving up your Christian practices for your partner. This means continuing with your routine of going to Mass, learning the Bible, praying, among other Christian behaviors.

The second step is to love yourself. You need to love your partner as much as you love yourself. You can't do this with low self-esteem, self-confidence problems or even emotional dependency. This will lead to a toxic relationship that is very likely to end. Before starting a relationship, learn self-love.

The third step is to love the other person as yourself. This means loving your partner with all their faults and qualities, without pressure to change them.

With this mature and prosperous start, you and your partner will be blessed by God in your relationship.

However, be aware of a few details about courtship. You must maintain chastity, have the clear goal of getting married as soon as possible and not keep the person for yourself just to satisfy sexual desires (not even in marriage).

With this, your relationship will be blessed forever, whether it's dating or marriage.
