As a true Christian, you need to seek a healthy connection and relationship with God. As Psalm 73:28 says, true happiness is being close to God.

According to biblical instructions, it is possible to improve your relationship with God with small daily practices. Nowadays, your routine can be very hectic, full of obligations, responsibilities and commitments.

However, you shouldn't let this interfere with your relationship with God, since cultivating a healthy spiritual life only brings blessings to the other areas of your life.

Check out 6 tips on how to improve your relationship with God.

1.  Study the Bible

No one can be intimate with an unknown person. In the case of God, the best way to get to know him is through the Bible. The Bible's greatest purpose is to totally transform your life.

By learning the Bible, you will come to know the Lord deeply. You will be intimate with Him, you will know what to expect from God, even in times of suffering.

You will also learn how God expects you to behave in life.

2.  Pray often

Prayer is not just synonymous with making requests to God. Prayer is a form of intimate communication with Him. It is a way of asking for help, but much more than that.

Gratitude, for example, is a feeling that is very pleasing to God and can be expressed in prayer. Praying for others is also very praiseworthy.

There is no sin in making requests or getting things off your chest, but there are many ways to pray. The best way to pray is to talk to God, like a close and intimate friend.

3.  Be obedient

Obedience is a very important conduct for God. So much so that in John 6:38, Jesus Christ explained that he was sent to earth for full obedience to the Lord. In this way, Jesus Christ guaranteed his own salvation.

Obedience can only be achieved through great discipline and dedication. When God asks you to be obedient, it means living by Christian precepts.

King Saul disobeyed God in 1 Samuel 15:22 and received a warning. Adam and Eve were expelled from Paradise. There are penalties that occur when you don't obey God's teachings.

An adulterer, for example, can have serious consequences in his life, such as the loss of a sacred relationship (which is marriage). A cigarette addict can have their health compromised. These are just a few examples.

4.  Live in community

You can't be a Christian on your own, cooped up at home and without contact with anyone. This is because God has taught us that we are all his children, part of a great universal family.

In addition, God has instructed us to love our neighbor as ourselves. You can't follow this without social interaction, be it with family, friends, church members, work colleagues or others.

In the same sense, we need to value and respect other people, as well as providing the necessary help in cases of need, since we are united in one big family of an Eternal Father.

5.  Be grateful

As already mentioned, one of the most praiseworthy feelings towards God is gratitude. This is made clear in Psalm 107:1, that you should give thanks to the Lord because He is good.

And this doesn't just apply to major material achievements, such as a new car or a trip. It also applies to the little things in everyday life, such as meals that are always available, good times with the family or a peaceful day.

It's ideal to thank the Lord for every opportunity, achievement or need. It's not enough just to pray when you need to make requests.

6.  Enjoy family life

There are people who have a family but spend little time at home or with other family members. This is not pleasing in God's eyes, since the family is a sacred institution created by Him since Creation, with Adam and Eve.

And it makes no difference what your family composition is. In the Bible, there are even stories of families with widows and children or with a mother-in-law and a daughter-in-law, for example.

So enjoy the moments with your family. Also, honor your father and mother. This is a very important commandment for God. In marriage, be faithful, be a partner and be a good example to your children, according to Christian precepts.
